The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) has teamed up with the U.S. Soccer Foundation to offer a new training program for AYSO coaches, focusing on social and emotional skills and positive youth development practices. The aim is to train 15,000 youth coaches by June 2025 using the Foundation’s Coach-Mentor Training, which is part of AYSO's commitment to providing a holistic experience for players and families. This initiative will include both online and in-person training sessions and will emphasize mentorship, empathy, and the development of social and emotional skills in young athletes. The program also seeks to prepare coaches to effectively support youth from under-resourced communities and to foster a positive, diverse team culture. This collaboration reflects AYSO and the U.S. Soccer Foundation's shared dedication to enriching the youth soccer experience nationwide.
